What it does
Picks random words from the EFF's 7,776-word diceware list -- the same list security researchers recommend -- using your browser's cryptographic random number generator, and strings them into a passphrase. More words means more entropy; six words gives roughly 77 bits, which is well beyond what's crackable in any practical timeframe.
Why it is private
The word list and the random selection both happen entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. Nothing about the passphrase you generate is ever transmitted, logged, or stored. Close the tab and it's gone -- so copy it somewhere safe first.
Tips
Longer word passphrases like "correct-horse-battery-staple" are both stronger and easier to remember than short random-character passwords. Stick with 6+ words for anything important. Adding a number satisfies sites that require one, but the extra words matter far more than the digit.
